The Celt Kilt

Love the Black Watch fabric but tragically the buckles are plastic and cheap. I am currently looking to replace the plastic buckle set my kilt came with last season. Honestly, if there had been an option to upgrade the plastic buckles to leather and metal when I ordered it, I would have done so. I was thinking of ordering a second kilt on sale that I would also invest in upgrading, but I am struggling with sizing. There does not appear to be a women’s size 0-2 equivalent in the kilt available online. This is also true for the shearling coats, few options for petite sizing.

This is a great skirt. Good quality. Love the two fasteners at the side of the waist. It looks good and for me is a good fit. It does sit above the knee which I knew on ordering. Looks great with thick tights. Lovely colours.

High quality fabric and lovely colour but a very poor fit. I first purchased a 16 (my usual size) which was so small I couldn't fasten it, and had to return it. However, the 18 I ordered instead is very little bigger, hangs badly and the wrap front is very skimpy, so that will also have to be returned. Given the high price of the garment, this poor fit and sizing isn't really acceptable. Customer service isn't great either. It took well over a week to process my first refund and despite having opted out of all marketing emails, I am being bombarded with these on a daily basis.

This kilt was a bit too short for me and I wasn’t happy with the quality for the price. I returned it 10 days ago. You received it back one week ago and I am still waiting for a refund. Not a great service.

Absolutely loving my new kilt - the fit round waist & hips is true to my size and I love the colour (Cairngorm Kintyre Kingfisher). Also happy with the length, it's perfect for my height. Excellent quality and well made. Looking forward to wearing it for many years to come.

Absolutely lovely! Cairngorm Kingfisher colorway is not too bright, but the colors stand out. The fit is spot-on and adjustable due to the Velcro and leather straps. I can see wearing this for years to come.

This is a lovely skirt. I got the 'kingfisher' colour way - which looks on the photo as if it has a navy base colour, but it is in fact closer to a dark forest green. Still looks good with a navy jumper mind, so it has stayed. The wool is a little scratchy on the skin so tights and a petticoat or vest are a must to stop one itching all day long! Overall a classic skirt that should earn its keep in my wardrobe year after year!

Beautiful material and a great fit. Looking forward to wearing with a jumper and knee high boots this winter. Definitely a piece I will wear for a long time. Slow fashion at its best.

This is a lovely knee-length kilt (I'm 161 cm tall), with a lining, which is very important. Too many skirts these days are unlined, which makes them ride up, especially if worn over a pair of woolen or cotton tights. The leather straps are beautifully made, and the overall finish is superb.Worth every penny. Love the extra velcro fastening for comfort too. The only thing to be aware of is that this model seems to run a bit small. I normally wear UK size 10 (38 EUR), but, following the advice of some reviewers on here, I ordered my kilt in size 12, and it was a perfect fit.

Such a well fitting comfortable kilt, the material is good quality and colours are perfect. This is my second kilt as I have another in grey/green.

I read the reviews on this skirt everything suggested to size down! With this in mind being new to celtic, I ordered a 10 & 8 & was deeply disappointed that they were both too small. So both returned & waiting for a refund so that I can try another style. Cannot fault the colour or quality, but your sizing is all wrong.

A well made kilt, good quality material, fits well and the velcro fastening is useful. I don't usually wear skirts but I enjoy wearing this kilt and as I am so pleased with it will purchase another in a different colour.

I am really disappointed, I had to wait for 8 weeks for my order and when it came it was mid labeled so I have had to send it back. On top the return label was missing so was a bit a a palava getting it returned. I thought the buckles on the skirt could have been better quality but the skirt itself seemed quite nice.

Not cheap, but good quality, comfortable, warm, looks like picture on the website. Hangs well, and fastening (velcro plus adjustable buckles) allows for some slight variation in waist size, so very good fit.

Lovely skirt which i am hoping to get lots of wear out of over the winter months. I did size up as had read some previous reviews and I was glad that I did as I think that the smaller size would have been a little tight on the waist. The Velcro fastening on the waistband is a great asset as it means that you can get the correct fit. It's a good length for me as just on the knee - I'm 5ft 4 and I purchased the mini. My only slight complaint is that it arrived very creased as it had been tightly packed, similar to when you receive a book through the post but it's quite expensive and I think deserved a bit more care in packaging.

This is a lovely garment, quality and finish are what we can expect from Celtic. However I think you are missing a trick with the choice of tartan. There are so many wonderfully colourful ones which would appeal to a wider age group. I am keeping my kilt but was disappointed it wasn’t as vibrant as the photo.

Lovely skirt only spoilt by the plastic type buckles. For the price metal ones would have been expected.

Ordered the Celt kilt and 3 times I was sent the wrong item. 3 times I had to send it back. The 2nd and 3rd times I was told it wouldn’t happen again!! Not good!

I've just bought my first kilt from Celtic and it's a beautiful garment. I have the anemone colour which proves to be a warm colour, true to the photograph. A caveat re sizing. I'm currently wearing a pair of size 10 jeans which are falling off my rather skinny hips and I confidently bought a size 10 kilt. However this proved to be too tight. I exchanged for a 12 and the fit is perfect.

The skirt is beautiful. But one question: is this really wool? Or only a very low percentage. The touch does not feel like wool AT ALL.

Really pleased with this skirt. It fits well and the length is ideal for me (I'm 5'2") being not too short but not frumpy. The sort of skirt that can be dressed up or down, making it very useful. I suspect I may buy more colours.

Mein erster Kilt! Er sitzt perfekt, der Stoff ist schön dick und trotzdem weich und fällt wunderbar! Hier in Deutschland etwas ganz Besonderes!

Extremely nice. 5ft 6 was hoping it wasn’t too long ,came nicely above knee so personally I didn’t feel frumpy. Velcro gives a better fitting for any weight fluctuations on waist. Nice quality & lining . I would buy more if I liked colours/pattern.

I can be between sizes in certain brands, the lovely girl on the phone and her colleague suggested I size up to a 14, which is perfect. Love the velcro fastening which gives extra adjustment too. I bought the navy/charcoal tartan which will go with lots of colours. I love it and can't wait for the weather to get colder so that I can wear it and no doubt I'll save up to get it in another colour. Another great buy from Celtic.
